There is a film which I don't think is going on general release which I have been privileged to see Which is an off cut to the Jesse Owens story just how good was Jesse Owens the winner of the 100 metre dash in the pre war person German Olympics WELL his time of 10-3 seconds Doesn't Compare with Usains Bolts. Of 9-7 seconds Owens is 14 strides behind on a run tape between the two athletes, Hmmm OR IS HE?

If you take into account Owens shoes weighed 1/2 kilo each and the spikes on soles were 1 1/2 inches long, and he's digging into a soft mixture of ash cinders and gravel the scientists have worked out that given shoes that weigh just 4 ounces each as per bolts given a rock hard track with no give in it As today's tracks are Owens they calculate would have been only One stride behind.

BUT then of course Owens had a STANDING start for that time ! Bolt ran from Blocks, THEN what about how much training methods and diet have improved in those 80 years LAST word from BOLT Who has always suspected this anyway, and Owens is his hero, after all " Fastest man alive " yes, I am the fastest man ever No I don't think so. I ran the 100m in bare feet when i was a nipper of 14, in 9.8 minutes , u have to bare in mind i was not in training except on the old specials going away trains playing brag,

Anyone remember the old cheap trains for away matches where u could get if quick enough a compartment to uself, quality.
