It's pretty obvious that we've got money to spend on wages by offering Nasri £80k a week, surely we could've used that money to sort out Rice's contract?

Maybe Hernandez out 120k wages split 80k Nasri, 40k Rice.

I actually wanted us to get Nasri before he went to Sevilla. He's got a lot of quality on the ball I think he would help us create from deeper. I know people talk about his attitude but I'm sure Pellegrini knows him better than us, the thing that concerns me is his time out and Age maybe the break has done him some good and he comes back fighting who knows. Any thoughts?

I agree with the negative comments around Nasri, as he does present some degree of risk. BUT, i don't think it is as bad a deal as people make out. We clearly need technical players in the team ATM, ideally with PL experience, and if accounts are correct that Antonio and Hernandez may well be out then Nasri on a short term basis may work. I for one would rather have Nasri coming on after 60 mins than Antonio, he will bring a degree of composure and a final ball that Antonio lacks. Get £10m for Antonio and we have a net profit of £5m (plus a better player IMO) which can go towards a second striker such as Barbosa (or someone else) if Hernadez does go, so that's a win win.
Come summer we can say goodbye and conduct the second big stage of re-structuring. Nasri has BOTH experience in the PL and a previous relationship with MP, which suggests he is LESS OF A GAMBLE than paying a big sum for someone else who may not have PL experience and MP will have to learn about. Nasri may also have something to prove, and choosing a short term deal with a manager he knows and has positive memories of working with may prove this. If he fails with us under MP then his career is over, whereas he could maybe get a 3 year deal elsewhere on £50k with a signing on fee.
We CANNOT spend huge money buying another wide player on a long contract, as we have Lanzini and Yarmo to come back which would leave us over-stocked here. So a deal like this with Nasri makes complete sense, he will have time with the squad to get fit before Xmas, so he will be settled and in sync with the squad come Jan 1st. It represents an upgrade on Antonio for the second half of the season, a profit, AND we can walk away come summer if we wanted to.
Were we offering a 3 year deal my feelings may be different.

Looks like the deal starting from January for Nasri is on the way to being done? Hope your right Iron. Al👍👍
No doubting previous quality, but can only rely on Pelligrini’s judgement, now get Rice sorted as you say!
We’ve not been short of deals since Pelle’s been In charge that’s for sure🤣🤣 let's hope he gets some off the books as well in January 👍👍⚒⚒⚒⚒.

The Sun is suggesting it may fall over due to the state of his fitness - I would prefer it fell over tbh.

I really don't get this one at all and I think it's got us written all over it I tell you what we will give a SHORT yes SHORT term deal for a player that hasn't played for 18 months now I don't care if he's been keeping fit in the gym which I don't doubt for one minute because he's never ever Been over weight or out of condition ( take note Antonio) but it's going to take 4-6 weeks to get up to pack of he premiership then he WILL think he's a certain starter which he WONT and another thing is we have LANZINI back soon unless we don't know something about a relapse in his recovery Mike might fill us in on that subject but a short term deal of £80,000 a week for him to be on the bench and causing havoc which he's week renowned for not saying he will but come on really this stinks of a bad deal IMO hope he proves me wrong but why oh hey do we have to entertain these has been who I might be doing us a disservice by saying he can't have ambitions anymore and is only looking for yes you got it a redundancy pay off but why use us for it we don't owe him kcuf lla and I'd be over he moon if it doesn't happen . COYI.

It’s not entirely dead, BUT personally I would set fire to the contract at first opportunity First which type of Nasri do we get he’s physically ok. Passed the medical he has no injuries of any kind, BUT hasn’t played at top level for a very long time 4/ 6 weeks won’t be long enough more like 8/ 10 weeks which would make the contract ridiculous, leave well alone in my opinion. IRONMIKE.
