I know, I know, it’s a business blah, blah, blah.

But I’m going to be mighty depressed if we sell Paqueta this window.

We must have three or four years left on his contract, so £70m is a derisory offer.

If he leaves this window that will be our two best players (by a mile) gone and the heart and lungs ripped out of the midfield.

Bowen will be looking elsewhere next.

If Man City come calling and you're Pacquetta - then there is only one place you wish to be! What if Salah joins the Saudi exodus, then Liverpool are sure to speak to us about Bowen. If these 2 transfers were to happen our decent midfield from last year has gone.

Sadly, I think we’ll struggle to hold on to Paqueta if Man City make a serious bid. Regardless of his contract details, the player’s head will be turned. Put yourself in his shoes — one of the strongest clubs in Europe want you, but you’re at a club which is in chaos, managed by a coach who has no idea about the attacking style of football you are suited to. And the new club will pay you more. What would you do? Aside from the fact that players at WHU are obviously unhappy with the set up. If Man City want him that bad, they’ll get him. If so, I fear for our Premiership future.
